FAQ's
I'm not sure if I want to come to a class?
Why not come along and have a try a taster, you don't have to commit to the course. We have found tht the intro to beginner hoop/pole course are super popular because people who are anxious about coming have met others who have braved it alone and they're all in the same boat. Plus we run small numbers to reduce that overwhelming feeling.
But what do I wear? (Imagine the grinch's voice)
Aerial is similar to gym attire... Tight clothing such as leggings, sports bra, top. When starting out layers are great and will be your best friend! Sammey used to wear two pairs of leggings way back when! Bring a long sleeve top too, we advise skin to be covered for aerial hoop. Grippy socks for the mats are sold at the studio too.
Pole requires slightly different attire, it's best to wear shorts as it’s your skin that grips to the pole. Material will make you slip, although if you don't have any or don't feel confident enough to begin with leggings will be fine with a sports top or vest top or tshirt over the top. You can now also buy grippy leggings!
Am I too old, too overweight?
We recommend our lessons for students over the age of 17 years old. There is definitely no upper age limit!
Our classes are enjoyed by ladies of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life! Exercises can be adapted to suit everyone, although tricks look hard, behind every move there is technique which your coach will teach you.
It looks too hard, and I have no strength or flexibility.
Our coahes will guide you through every move with the techniques you need; they can adapt the moves or adjust to anyone's suitability. Lots of our students are surprised at how far they've come when they finish their first course. Drop us a message if you'd like to ask any more questions! You will see natural progression in flexibility and strength when you start out, anyone looking to become more flexible we also run a specialised flexibility class called Bend N Flex with Renee.
What happens if I need to cancel?
We understand that sometimes you need to cancel or re-schedule your lesson due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
We run a cashless business, all bookings are managed by yourself through the Gymcatch App, you have complete control over when, and how you book your classes to suit you and your lifestyle. Course bookings are non refundable so we advise you check you can make the dates before committing.
We run a strict 24-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY - If you don't give us 24 hours' notice when cancelling a class, you will be charged for that class.
If you cancel before the 24-HOURS, you will have a credit applied to your account, to use within that week or another class.
Please be mindful, you will need to re-book within the expiry date from when you purchased the class/package.
We are a small business, if we don't have enough notice, we will be unable to fill your space.
Thank you for supporting and being so understanding.
Hoping we've managed to answer some of those initial questions you may have. It's understandable that you may feel nervous before your first class, but try to remember you will be in a class with other beginners too, who may be feeling the exact same!
If you have any questions not listed above, please don't hesitate to drop Sammey a message!
